    1. Flo & Elvin Sweeten still live in Gene Autry, OK. I do not have contact info but I am sure they’re ‘in the book.’ They have not been associated with the Museum since Summer of 2015.

  3. Is it true Gene Autry stole his whole style from Woody the cowboy from Toy Story? There are a lot of suspicious similarities…

    1. How dare you imply the very great Gene Autry stole anything from Toys r Us. That is a store, not a guy. You are absolutely donkey brained for thinking this way. #Bless

  5. The Texas Comptroller’s office is holding a single item as unclaimed property for your museum. These funds are listed in the Comptroller’s database as followed :
    “Gean Autry Oklahoma Museum”
    1 prop. Worth $26.50
    (Prop. ID # 35634183)

Please claim these funds and use them to advance your mission. Call the Comptroller at 1-800-321-2274 for the official claim form, or claim them online at the Comptroller’s official website listed here
    claimittexas.org. Thank you.

  6. My father-in-law Tony Fiore, played accordion in several films but we’ve only been able to identify him in The Old Barn Dance and Blue Montana Skies. He was a member of Cal Shrum’s Colorado Hillbillies. He said that the band’s name would change film by film. I’d love to track him down in more films. Do you have a list of the various bands that played in the Republic Pictures from 1935 to 1940?

  8. An uncle of mine was a friend of Autry’s when they both worked for the railroad. He boarded for a time at my grandmother’s boarding house in Ada, OK. I have hand written letters from Autry to my uncle during that time…way before Gene had a singing and movie career. Does your museum desire such items? I could take photos of the letters if you are interested. I live near Seattle. Will look forward to a reply. Barbara Ross
